Description
TRANSCEND is a Twinning action designed to step up the scientific excellence and innovation capacity of the University of Patras (UPatras), Greece, in the defined area of bio-based pest control by establishing long-term knowledge transfer partnerships with leading European and international institutions. The project focuses on advancing UPatras’s expertise in insect chemical ecology and molecular biology, pheromone biosynthesis, transcriptomics, and artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted and experimental molecular modelling to support the development of environmentally sustainable pest management strategies.
Role of our laboratory
Our lab contributes the technical foundations and training capabilities for insect chemical ecology through expertise in in silico protein discovery and evolution, structural biology, antennal transcriptomics, in vitro and biophysical techniques for protein characterization.
