To identify the physiological dimeric interface Scietti et al. introduced the Trp148Asn and Leu150Thr double mutation in the PLOD3 recombinant protein. This mutation produce a novel glycosylation site in position 148. This mutation did not affect PLOD3 dimerization nor the lysyl-hydroxylase enzymatic activity.
